Mildenhall Cycling Rally - Children's events

Children's Skilful Riding (Saturday)

We are very pleased to welcome West Suffolk Wheelers to the Rally who are going to run this new competition for us.

It will be based on teams of three, although individual entries will be allocated into teams, according to age and ability.

Entry Fee Ł2.00

Held between 9.15am and 11.15am

Programme entries close 22nd August.

Children's Duathlon (Sunday)

A mini-duathlon for children of 3 to 17 years of age on the day of the event.

Held completely within the confines of the Rally Ground, competitors will be divided into groups,
based on age, with massed starts and shortened sections for the younger competitors.

450m run

1500m cycle*

200m run

(all distances are approximate)

*The wearing of helmets is strongly recommended during this discipline.

Entry Fee Ł2.00 (3 to 5 years FREE)

All finishers will receive a medal or similar memento.

Entry Limit 75*

First Group Starts 9.30am

Programme entries close 22nd August.

* Entries received up until 5pm Saturday 29th August 2009 will be on a first come, first served basis up to a maximum of 75 children.

Children's Sports and Novelty Events

Events for children will take place throughout the weekend.

There are children's sports during the grass-track racing programme on all three days.

Adding to the fun for children, Face painting (left) and bouncy castle (right) will be available free on both Sunday and Monday.

Children's Entertainer (Monday)

While Mum & Dad are looking round the Trade Show, the children can be entertained by Adam Strange with his Magic & Puppet Shows!

Also watch him do some amazing things with balloons!

Straight from the magicians mouth

Please allow me to introduce myself: I am Adam Strange (and yes, I am very Strange) - magician, puppeteer and ‘balloonatic’.

You may have seen me in your town, decorating children, adults, and even pets with extravagent balloon hats. At the Mildenhall Cycling Rally I will be doing a short magic show, suitable for all children.

The Fuzzy Friends Puppet Show puts a new twist on a familiar story, and during the afternoon I will be making balloons of all ages for crazy people of all shapes and sizes. Or should that be ‘Crazy balloons of all shapes and sizes for people of all ages'? Who can tell? If the cap fits.... that's because it's made from balloons!

Free Swimming (Monday)

Mildenhall Swimming Pool will be available for camper’s use, free of charge, on Monday morning from 11.30am until 1pm.
Entrance cards will be available from the Information Centre.
